Since becoming an Official Olympic Sport in 2000, Taekwondo has drifted sport versus art. No longer does the spiritual side manner. No, it has become all about the physical, all about the kicking, all about the punching, and all about the winning. That makes me sad.

I have done many things in my lifetime, but I was not prepared to have the experience of a lifetime in a country other than my own; an experience that would further define who I am and what I am becoming.

I started my journey in Taekwondo twenty-two years ago. In less than a month, I will test for my fifth degree black belt certification from the Kukkiwon and continue my lifelong journey in the martial arts and the exploration and development of my inner self.
